Boundary Training Compliance for Minister Members

The Commission on Ministry reminds all Teaching Elders that boundary training is required every three years for all Olympia Presbytery minister members. It is the responsibility of minister members to track and report their compliance to the Stated Clerk.

Boundary training recommendations:

  • LeaderWise Beyond Boundary Training Maintaining Healthy Boundaries in Ministry October 15th, November 12 & 13th, 2024 (recommended for seminary and early career pastors).

  • LeaderWise Advanced Boundary Training (recommended for clergy with prior boundary training) January 14th and 15th, 2025. Participants must attend both sessions in order to earn a certificate of completion. Training fee is typically $89 (responsibility of minister member/applicant pay)

  • Safe Gatherings—www.safegatherings.com Training Fee $29 (Responsibility of Minister Member/Applicant Pay) Clergy Ethics and Congregational Boundaries Certificate (Approximately 2 hrs). Important: Minister members must select CLERGY ETHICS & CONGREGATIONAL BOUNDARIES training option, and NOT the general training for volunteers. Again, minister members have the responsibility to submit a copy of their boundary training completion certificate every three years to the stated clerk.

PLEASE NOTE: At the regular stated meeting of our Presbytery in February of 2025, we will publish a list of those who do not have a current certificate of boundary training on file with the stated clerk.
